How to Prepare Your Skin for a Beach Vacation?
Smooth those rough areas on your elbows with an alpha-hydroxy lotion and a thick cream containing wax or paraffin.
Get some dihydroxyacetone ("tan in a bottle") preparation from the
pharmacy. A few days before you leave, apply it according to the
directions; twice a day for two to three days is usually enough. Be
careful of the elbows, knees and ankles so they don't get extra dark
and streak, and moisturize heavily before applying. You will be as
brown as you want when you hit the beach, but you should still wear
sunscreen.
Do not go to a tanning booth -- you
will get industrial-strength sun exposure that will eventually show up
on your skin. While this makes great business for a dermatologist in
your future, it is not in your best interest.

I am going to Turkey in June and want to prepare my skin in the safest way as i have fair/light skin, freckles and can burn quite easy. I like the sound of the Decleor tan accelerator?? would it be worth me using this with my skin type and could you recommend a product for severe heat rashes???

Decleor Tan Accelerator If you still have your heart set on getting a tan this summer after all you've read and heard, here's something that speeds up the process to get you there in half the time, which means less harmful exposure. Decleor Tan Accelerator works to initiate and accelerate the tanning process. Made with natural ingredients, this lightweight lotion reinforces your cells' efenses against the sun's rays, activates melanin production and provides provitamin A to promote a faster tan. Begin using Tan Accelerator three to five days before sun exposure. |
